The project
Innovation for Mills (I4M) is an integrated multidisciplinary lab born from the synergy of Casillo Group, Idea75 and Politecnico di Bari. The research focuses on advanced analysis of milling systems and innovative solutions for the energy efficiency of industrial machinery.
The visual concept — winner of a dedicated competition — turns the universal asterisk (symbol of mathematics, of inquiry) into a stylised cog, building an immediate conceptual bridge to the core business of the Casillo mill.
A geometric, futuristic typeface anchors the wordmark; the colour palette pairs a bright research‑green with desaturated tones for sustainability and energy efficiency. The “M” and “R” echo the partner colours of Idea75 and Politecnico di Bari, reinforcing the supporting claim — "Maciniamo Ricerca".
I curated the full UI of the digital hub: an immersive, mobile‑first layout that gives the milling plant photography centre stage and offers fluid, high‑impact navigation across devices.
